SHAH ALAM: Two journalists from The New Straits Times Press (M) Berhad were honoured for their academic excellence at the 99th Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) convocation today.
‘Harian Metro’ (HM) reporter Hafidzul Hilmi Mohd Noor received the Outstanding Master’s Award (ASC) after completing his studies in February 2023.
Hafidzul, 35, who earned his Master’s degree in Media and Information Warfare Studies, attributed his success to his 12 years of experience as a journalist at HM.
“Alhamdulillah, I’m incredibly grateful for this award,” Hafidzul said.
“Given the challenges I faced during my studies, I honestly didn’t expect such excellent results.
“This achievement is a testament to the support I received from my employer, colleagues, coursemates, and family.”
‘New Straits Times’ journalist Fuad Nizam, 26, was awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism.
Fuad, who studied remotely during the Movement Control Order (MCO), expressed his gratitude for the support of his parents, lecturers and fellow students.
“I thank God for giving me the courage to complete my studies successfully.
“This achievement is particularly meaningful given the challenges of remote learning during the MCO.
“I couldn’t have achieved this without the prayers of my parents, guidance of my lecturers and support of my fellow comrades.” – NST Online
